Today I spotted a small flock of robins in town eating berries from what I think was a hackberry tree and perching in several small surrounding trees to digest and dispose of the seeds of said berries. Weather- sunny with temp in the low 30's. It is the earliest I have ever spotted robins and attribute it to the unseasonably warm temperatures this winter. I stress 'ever' for I am 51 years old. I was alway under the impression that the species wintered in the south, but after research found I was mistaken.
