Bald Eagle

Date: 02/04/2002

Number: 1

There was one adult eagle sitting on the top of the tree this morning and long and behold there was Speckles sitting in his spot on a lower branch waiting for breakfast. This is Speckles third year of returning and he is maturing into an adult now. His head and tail have turned a grayish white and there is still a little mottling on his chest. He hasn't forgetton his morning routine, that is of me serving him breakfast. I guess he knows how important it is to start the day off right with a good breakfast. He feasted on a trout cut in half and returned for a third helping, but won't come down. There was a baby eagle sitting in a near by tree and I didn't know if that was why he wouldn't come down or if he was just full.
