I see monarchs off and on during the winter in this area. They visit my back yard, are on the golf course, fluttering across interstate 45, and we just recently moved to Tiki Island, which is across the intracoastal waterway from Galveston, TX, where I have seen at least 3 in the past 2 weeks.
These monarchs are a little bit tattered, but are still cruising and checking out the nectar bearing plants.
