As spring approaches, physiological changes, probably caused by hormones, are taking place in animals, as the animals prepare for breeding and reproduction. Some of these changes can be observed.

For example, here in Ontario, birdwatchers are reporting that in some european starlings, their bills are becoming a bright yellow instead of a dull yellow/brown color.
