Monarchs were present up until 1 Feb 2002. There were eggs, larvae, and flying adults in urban gardens. I watched one eclose in my yard 28 Jan 2002. Since 4 Feb 2002 it has been cold and rainy and none have been observed. None were observed during a survey of Lafitte National Park and Historical Reserve, Barataria Unit 29 Jan 2002.
