The first Snow Crocus poked its head above the soil today at 2400 feet elevation on our beautiful Appalachian mountain. Usually they don't appear until late in February, but they are early this year, probably due to the last couple of weeks of warm weather. Snow is forecast for tonight. It doesn't harm these hardy little flowers.
