It's a real tough call this winter here in Massachusetts,
AMRO have been around all winter in big #'s.
We have had only 1 day of snow cover here in the south shore,
(Marshfield, MA) the crabapple trees had a very bountiful crop this
past fall.
The fruit was not palatable to Cedar waxwings, EUST and AMRO's till after
a couple heavy frosts and a good thaw in mid January 2002.
Now in February it has been brutally cold, single digit nights,
when it warms up during the day I continually see hundreds of
AMRO foraging under leaves throughout all hardwood forest edge
habitat etc.
