We have set up an outdoor classroom, beside our school. We've terraced a runoff potential
>landscape with railroad ties - donated by a parent. Plants have been added, including milkweed.
>We located milkweed within a 40 mile area and transplated plants and seeds. We had noticed Monarchs
>in the areas of these plants previous to transplanting.
>Our students 1st and 6th are partners in this endeavor-this is the 7th year of this long term project.
>I have an Archaeological dig in one area, for 6th-we dig out in Fall, dig in in Spring.
>Our School will cease to be an elementary school in the school year 2003-2004. It is the oldest in
>in the district. We just found out 2 months ago.
>We have been working to involve the district, so the area can remain a milkweed site, to provide a Monarch
>habitation site.
