Saw a mixed flock of about 20 robins, a few starlings and a few cedar waxwings in the trees in our school Learning Garden at about 4PM on Feb 1. The weather was cold and windy and the birds were mainly resting and flying occasionally from tree to tree and back. Although I had been hearing individual robin song snatches (but not complete songs I think)in the mornings for about a week, this was my first flock sighting this year. On Feb 11 I saw another smaller flock about a block from school; nearby was large flock of starlings that may have been with the smaller (6-10) robin flock.
