The redwinged blackbirds & killdeer joyously announced their returns during Saturday's 46 degree sunshine.Several times on Sunday, small groups of northbound sandhill cranes left their calls hovering in their wake. Today, two male bluebirds who've wintered over in the woods, sang brightly from the crabapple as the sun rose. Bluebird blue is wonderful splashed across the burnt orange of a winter sunrise!
Today's wind is bitter with temp's in the teens. Lake effect snow has swirled around the house all day. Wonder where the poor killdeer & blackbirds are huddling?
