The old Maplewood cemetary in a grove of ancient maples has sprouted blue plastic bag buckets! 2 & 3 bags per tree, our wild fluctuations of temperatures will make this run a tricky one!
Nice to see an old tradition continue. Lamont was once the starting point for settlers & immigrants coming inland from Lake Michigan up the mighty highway of the Grand River to settle in this area. Many of these pioneers nestle deep beneath the maples sheltering limbs. On windy days like today, you can almost hear the chanties of longago French voyagers moving bundles of furs downriver to the trading post in Grand Haven.
