I've been remiss in paying attention to the American Robin migration this winter, but many Bay Area birders noted extraordinarily large numbers of robins in December and January.

After receiving a reminder email from Journeys North, I went outside listening for American Robins singing and heard one bird singing yesterday afternoon. Other signs of spring here in the San Francisco Bay area have been Mourning Doves doing their courtship flights since early last month, and European Starlings pairing off.
