My "unpaved" yard is a certified backyard wildlife habitat, providing food,water, and shelter to birds and small mammals. The landscaping includes many native plants for food such as American holly,inkberry, and cotoneaster; nectar sources such as cardinal flower, blue lobelia, chaste bush,and columbine; and evergreen hedgerows for protection. These are supplemented with feeders, birdbaths, and nestboxes. It's a work in progress.
