Ms Ladas' 6th grade class spotted our first robin sighting on March 4, 2002 on the school grounds. It was alone and resting on the fence that separates the kindergarten playground from the other students' playground. We loved seeing it. As an added bonus the following day, one of our most treasured school supporters, "Grandma Shirley", brought a robin's nest with two eggs to the school. A little early for nesting? She told us the nest had been built on a very low bush in her yard last spring - so low, in fact, that the neighborhood cats had invaded it. The mom abandoned the nest and she brought it in to keep for the students at Hagginwood Elementary to see and appreciate. How else would we have first-hand views of the beautiful blue color of robin eggs? It's been colder than usual in Sacramento and most of our spring things are late in coming. Tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and other beautiful flowers are usually in full bloom by now. We'll appreciate them more when they do emerge. Our b
