Two years ago we received a grant to plant a butterfly garden at Apshawa School in West Milford, N.J. It is the job of each of the first grade classes to maintain this garden throughout the year. On March 15 while cleaning up dead leaves and left over weeds, the children were excited to find some earthworms crawling around. This is a much earlier sighting than in past years.
