Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/06/2002

Number: 1

Monarchs have been flying with good numbers for at least 10 days here in
Corpus Christi (reporting 3/16/02). On my bike ride from work to home last Thursday, I counted
12 in (distance 0.9 miles).

P.S. I plucked a monarch larva from my front yard in late January and
brought it into the kitchen. It produced an adult on February 9, 2002 and
was released back to the front yard. So the larvae were active even back in
January.
