All of the listings below are from our backyard at Alamo Country Club, Alamo, TX (a few miles east of McAllen and ten miles north of Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge).

January 31, 2002

March 14, 2002 This one landed twice on the new green growth at the base of a blooming Butterfly Weed plant.


In all three cases the single Monarchs fluttered around the blooming plants in the yard: Lantana, Butterfly Weed, and in December and January a few remaining blooms on the low and high Blue Mist plants. This community has blooming plants all year long.
