Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/17/2002

Number: 1

I saw two Monarchs flying north over my house on Sunday March 17, 2002
in northwest Houston about 5 miles south of the intersection between
highway 6 and 290. Also, my mexican milkweed is loaded with eggs! There
were no eggs on Friday March 15. Although Sunday was the first time I
saw adult monarchs for about a month or so, I have had caterpillars
since the middle of February. Unfortunately many of them have died. Not
due to the freeze we had earlier in the month but due to some illness or
parasite.
