Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/14/2002

Number: 1

I have heard the first robin here in Huntington, Vermont. On March 14, 2002, late in the afternoon, I heard just one singing audibly from the top of a huge cottonwood tree half a mile up the road from my house. Then on my way back home from my walk I heard a lot of robiny sounds and looked up into a line of fencerow trees to see a whole flock of robins moving around in several trees. A ways farther down the road, I heard more robins and saw another flock gathered in another of my neighbor's trees. So I think I must have been out walking right when a sizeable wave of robins was arriving in my neighborhood. Interestingly enough I have not seen any more flocks, but I'm hearing occasional robins so a few must have stayed around (Reported in WAVE also)
