All Other Signs of Spring

Nine wild turkeys emerged from the woods adjourning our yard this morning around 45 minutes after sunrise...three males, five females, and one "undetermined"...no April Fool's joke!! They meandered around for about 20 minutes and then returned to the woods. Other than the grackles, who ignored them and continued with breakfast, the rest of the usual crowd didn't quite know what to make of these new arrivals; the yard was strangely quiet at a time that is usually full of activity. The turkeys never showed any inclination to partake of any of the offerings at any of the feeding stations. Very interesting --- will log it if they return &/or become part of the family.
