Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/02/2002

Number: 1

During my morning walk what a pleasure to hear the Robins signing at 5 a.m. Also the Witch Hazel is blooming along with a few leafing out of wild Honeysuckle bushes. Our "resident" Redwing Blackbird is back at the feeder, you hear him before you see him and could set the clock by him. Also seeing more little grasshoppers in the fields. The Poplars have their catkins waving in the wind. The swallows have taken up residents in the birdhouse and busy gathering dry grasses, although I fear it may be a little early.
