About 90 snow geese were spotted in the late afternoon, south of Vineland on Niagara Peninsula, resting by a ponded area of a farmers's corn field west of the highway going into Vineland. A severe thunderstorm was approaching with high winds from the SW but it hadn't started raining when the birds were spotted. A smaller group were taking off in a northeast direction away from the storm which was approaching from Brantford area. A few days prior we had experienced some warm fronts arriving from Mississippi valley.
