On Wed-March 27 -10:30 AM 7 miles south of Kaufman,Texas in Becker Community a pair of migrating monarchs have been seen. We captured the male and examined it for wear or tags. They are both Mexican migrants as best as we could ascertain. The female was flying near the ground looking for fresh milkweed on which to lay her eggs, but alas our Spring was a retarded one and all our plants are late to sprout! Maybe in the next few warm days the milkweed will emerge.
