Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 04/02/2002

Number: 1

We are having a very slow spring here in Yukon. We have had winds out of the north for the last four weeks. We opened the Swan Haven Interpretive Centre with no swans. For the first time in over 16 years of observations there were no swans on the first of April. The good news is we did have our first(spring?) American Robin yesterday (April 2). We had a few over-wintering
robins in Whitehorse but Swan Haven is likely outside of the range of the over-wintering birds so we suspect this is a spring bird. Still only one. (Northern Observation Post Report)
