Oviposition activity continues at the Choctaw Trails site in southwest Jackson today (April 6, 2002). Twenty five milkweed plants were checked (24 Asclepias viridis + 1 Asclepias verticillata) and 33 eggs and 3 larvae were found on these plants. Stem length ranged from 0.7 to 7.5 cm (mean 3.54 cm). Twenty two eggs were on the bottom leaf surface and 11 were on the top surface. Several females were observed ovipositing in the field as the survey was conducted.
