while attempting to air out the house during a head-splitting, brain-damaging(i was wearing a mask), session of painting in the lab, a raucous, shreiking call was heard through the open doors and windows. it sounded e-e-erie and high pitched, so i went out to see which of the myriad crows that have invaded the neighborhood had developed a falsetto mimicry call. twas not to be. it was only the return of the land seagulls, here to add another vocal dimension to the cacophony of Spring.
