I have fed & watched Ruby Throated Hummingbirds for the last 15 or so years. I keep records on when they return in the spring, how many feed at our feeders, & the number & dates the babies are first seen at the feeders, & the date they leave in late August or early September. I love these beautiful little birds & have planted our yard with flowers they like and put in birdbaths with drippers/misters. My goal is to introduce friends, neighbors, & family (actually anyone who will listen!) to the joys of hummers & teach them the basics of providing a healthy environment for the hummers(food, water, flowering plants, no insecticides). By sharing what works best, we can all enjoy these lovely birds & help them survive & florish in today's environment.
