Oviposition activity was at its highest level observed this season with eight females simultaneously working the Choctaw Trails site in southwest Jackson; in addition two monarchs were observed taking nectar from thistle. 88 Asclepias viridis plants were checked and 19 of these (21.6%) had one or more eggs or larvae. Plants ranged in stem length from 4 to 20 cm; several A. verticillata were also checked but none of these had eggs or larvae.
