The first local robin began to sing on April 4th. It was not until this morning though, that a second bird was heard
singing. Then, this evening at dusk, there were eight singing!
So, there was a significant arrival of local birds today, April 11th. This is in line with past years. Local birds usually do not arrive until ~3 weeks after the first migrants. Grand Manan Island is at the mouth of the
Bay of Fundy, about seven miles from Maine and 18 from NB.
