Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/16/2002

Number: 1

On Friday,April 12th as we left for a vacation week, our tulips had just budded. We then experienced some very seasonably warm days over the weekend. We had temperatures in the high 80's and three 90 degree days in a row. By Tuesday, all the tulips were in full bloom opened to thier fullest. On Wednesday, the flowers were all dying. Each student and staff member at our school had planted a tulip in our Litwin Peace Garden in hopes of World Peace. It was so sad that our blossoms' lives were so short lived and will not be seen by most of the student body except through the pictures that one of our teachers took on Tuesday while checking on the garden. It is so ironic that our garden seems to be mirroring world events. But there is always next year for our garden and the hope that our world leaders will continue to work toward world peace.
