We had projected, and according to soil temperature, blooms should have started around the 21st. Was in Washington, DC, where they seemed to be about 2 weeks ahead. Surprised to come back with buds peeping out on short stems on Monday. On Tuesday it looked as if 2 tulips would bloom on Wednesday. To our great surprise
Wednesday 24 of the red emporer tulips were blooming saucily in front of schoo! We had many compliments on them, with more classes wanting to do their own bulb study--can't wait to see what next year brings!!!
