Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/18/2002

Number: 1

Swamp Milkweed is very slow to grow this year. It is not yet blooming. The plants in the wild are only about 1 foot high.
A late freeze in March also set back the cultivated milkweeds in the garden.
I have not found any monarch eggs. The only caterpillars found so far are those of the swallowtails, which are abundant on the wild
parsley.
