Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/22/2002

Number: 1

Today it's snowing! We hope that our newly blooming tulips don't freeze! The blossoms aren't fully open at this moment, but they were on the weekend. Last week was very hot! We had temperates up in the high 20's (for our US friends, that means almost 90 degrees Farenheit!) Today it is just above freezing. Last week the leaves were 15 to 20 cm tall and the blossom stem was still hiding. By Friday, the stocks were 30 cm (12") tall and the buds were almost open! A hot week that was good for growing. We also had fun digging holes and planting trees last week. We planted white pine, red maple and sugar maple that are local, Ontario trees.
