At the Choctaw Trails site in southwest Jackson, 21.7% (n= 60) of the A. viridis plants checked at random had at least one egg or larva during our observation period this afternoon (April 23, 2002). Two worn females were observed ovipositing in the fields; none of the larvae observed had advanced beyond the 3rd instar. Ten A. verticillata plants checked had no eggs or larvae.
