It was 7 PM (daylight savings time). I was wearing a red shirt. A male ruby-throated hummingbird flew up to me, hovered for a moment and then flew off. I immediately went into the house and fixed the feeder for the first time this season. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and I think that this might be a little early for the "hummers" to arrive here.
