Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/28/2002

Number: 1

Elizabeth Hunter reporting for a friend:
"A sighting
by an ornithologist friend of a monarch he saw in his garden in
Asheville, NC, on 4/28. He did not say (he emailed) whether it was a
faded or a bright one. I KNOW he knows what he saw--he led a birding trip to Mexico in December
and they added a trip to the monarch sanctuaries. So I am confident
weatern North Carolina in the last week. Other than his
and mine (see 5/2/02 report from Bakersville, NC), I have not heard of any.

(Condition of wings not noted.)
