Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/28/2002

Number: 1

This past weekend I netted a mating pair of monarchs in my wildflower meadow backyard. They were very faded with tattered wings. I also netted the absolutely most tattered, faded male that I have ever seen..all wings were missing 10-20% of their wing area and he was tissue paper thin. How he could keep going is amazing to me. Too bad I didn't have the digital camera at home.
