Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/04/2002

Number: 1

I think our hummers were late coming to the feeder - I was certain that I saw them flitting about the locust at least a week before we saw them at the feeder. Our favorite is the one that acutualy sits on the feeder, looks around, and then sips the nectar. Why they seemed so reluctant to come to the feeder is a mystery - could they have been visiting our new blooming red buckeye instead?
