Okay, so here's the greatest story! Last year we moved into a new home in Chicago. Every day at about the same time, these two small monarch butterflies showed up at our front porch. They would literally play with us, landing on our heads, shoulders and noses until within days my son (3 1-2 years old last year) and I (slightly older) had them sitting on our fingers! It was incredible! Every day we'd go out and talk to them and stick our finger out and they'd hop right on!

Anyhow, of course we were saddened when summer ended, but a friend of ours who loves butterflies told us how they migrate and return yearly! Then we saw the article in the Chicago Tribune on March 17th which informed us of the January storm in Mexico which killed off 80% of the butterflies. For some reason I held onto it.
