Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/12/2002

Number: 1

Saw your article in a paper a few weeks ago and cut it out. We have hundreds/thousands of Monarchs settle in our trees on their way south. Saw my first one May 12th.. Yesterday, May 14th, I spotted about four fluttering around my lilac bushes.. Am sure more will soon be here.

As for the wings -- I didn't notice. It's very gusty today so the butterflies I've seen are gone before I can get a close look. I'll try and check the wings from now on. I did mention this to my Aunt, whom is really big in to butterflies. She said she saw her first Monarch, yesterday, and did notice how faded the wings appeared.
