I want to report that I spotted one Monarch butterfly about a week ago at Loantaka pond in Morris township. He, or she, was a perfect speciman, no torn wings. As far as the milkweed progress. I have not spotted any, but then again I don't know if I would recognize it in it's early stages.
I have spotted 2 Baltimore Orioles in the last few days, both are very bright orange and black in color which I gather would be Males. I will keep you posted if I see any more Monarchs.
