Today I discovered 2-3 inch high milkweed plants (about 6)growing near large rocks beside the highway where I live. Since there is no evidence of other milkweed growing in the usual places, I suspect the extra warmth from these rocks encouraged a few plants to grow sooner than the others. I have never taken note of when milkweed spouted here in previous years, so I can't comment whether this is early or not. We have had a very cold spring here in Haliburton with frost and snow in the past week.
