We woke up this morning to find a baby robin in our family room. He still had pin feathers but much of his adult feathers as well. We think our cat brought him into the house. He seemed fairly undamaged so I took him up to the neighbors house for safety from the cats. Very soon after i placed him on the ground near a bird feeder and under a tree several robins came, gathered food and began feeding him. a Blue Scrub Jay was a bit aggressive toward the baby bird but the robins chased him away. We were worried that the bird would not make it. Is it normal for Robins to adopt fledgling robins? I assume these robins were not parents as my neighbors house is quite far away.
