This yearI finally spotted my first barn swallow along the rail
trail sitting on a fence post. Magnificent through the binoculars. Date was Sat. May 11th, and yesterday Sun. May 27th while cycling around the rural concession block in the same area I saw about 8 to 10 barn swallows swooping over a farm field near Jerseyville, around 6:30 pm in sunny skies.
