I saw my first Monarch at Crosswinds Marsh in southwest Wayne county on Sunday May 26. It was flying 30 to 50 feet off the ground and taking advantage of the wind from the south. Temperatures for the day reached the upper sixties and it was sunny for most of the day. Compared to past years, this first Monarch sighting date is quite late. (Crosswinds Marsh--Wayne County, Westland, MI.)
