I finally saw a monarch today. It was feeding at Sweet Williams in my neighbor's garden. I may have seen one two weeks ago, but it wasn't a positive identification, so I couldn't report it. The milkweed around here is 2 - 3 feet tall and ready to bloom.
We have lots of butterflies of many different varieties, but we don't usually have a lot of monarchs in this area. We don't see a wave of migration, but we do see some individuals during the summer.
School's out, so I am reporting this from home.
