It was a relief to see a first-of-the-year fresh looking Monarch
cruising about the yard today. Tho I never got close enuf to ID sex, it soon became apparent there had been a female about. The milkweed plants, which just emerged last week, have numerous eggs. Probably way too numerous. Tallest plant is ~8". One 2" sprout had 2 eggs, one on each leaf! Yipes. The Monarchs are back, will the milkweed survive?!
