Port Hope butterfly breeder Rod Parrott reports seeing his first monarch butterflies on June 7th and 9th at Port Hope, Ontario - approximately 100km east of Toronto on the north shore of Lake Ontario. One of these monarchs appeared to be a freshly hatched individual and both were moving very quickly. Rod reports that a friend of his reliably spotted another monarch on June 4th at Port Hope.
