First Monarchs in Keweenaw peninsula
Two Monarchs sighted in the last week on the Keweenaw peninsula (south shore Lake Superior), Michigan's Upper Peninsula:
* June 5 - Houghton, Michigan -- 47 degrees longitude
* June 9 - Bumbletown, Michigan -- 20 miles north of Houghton
Eggs found on common milkweed (about 3-4 inches tall) in Houghton.
