first Baltimore Oriole sighting in our 17 years living alongside a channel of the Potomac River in suburban Virginia (30 miles west of Washington DC). Male landed in hydrangea right outside living room window (and right below busy hummingbird feeder-- looking for nectar?), then was feeding on seeds in upper branches of undetermined tree along riverbank.
